Lights Football Lose To Rocky Mountain College

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights played Rocky Mountain College October 19 on Saturday afternoon in Havre.  The Lights lost to the Battlin' Bears 39-57.  Northern tallied 496 yards of total offense (283 passing and 213 rushing), while the Battlin' Bears accounted for 591, of which 222 yards were on the ground.  There were four sacks on the night (two on Northern and two on Rocky Mountain College). There were five interceptions that were thrown, as two come from Rocky Mountain College.

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Brenden Medina went 11 for 34 through the air for 229 yards and rushed for three touchdowns.  Damari Cual-Davis caught two passes for 113 yards with one touchdown, while Levi Keltner also had two catches for 62 yards and one touchdown.  Cameron Taylor carried the ball 19 times for 134 yards. Jett Robertson added 12 carries for 98 yards and added a touchdown. Northern's defense was led by Japerri Powell who accounted for 15 total tackles 10 of which were solo. Jaren Maki wasn't too far behind with 11 tackles and one breakup. Hunter Riley had an outstanding game with two interceptions and had four tackles. He also had one fake punt that converted to a first down. Also, he had a fake field goal kick which converted to score a touchdown.

The Battlin' Bears quarterback Kamden Brown completed 8 of 13 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Allen Williamson carried the ball six times for 76 yards. Holden Ryan led the receivers with six catches for 122 yards with two touchdowns.  The defense was led by Tucker Maxwell who had 10 tackles and one breakup. John Tia, Devonte Woods, and Cade Nebel each had one sack. Riley Grrett went five of seven field goals, as one field goal was 50 yards.

The Lights so Far:
The Lights drop to 1-6 on the season (0-6 Frontier). Rocky Mountain College is 2-4 in the Frontier Conference.

Up Next:
The Lights will head to Dillon, Montana next weekend for a matchup with University of Montana Western.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
