Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball played in the Big Sky Challenge on Friday in Butte Montana. The Skylights went two for two in the Big Sky Challenge. In their first match, the Skylights beat Evergreen State College in three sets (25-22, 25-22, and 25-21). In their second match, they played Valley City State University, as they won in four sets (25-19, 15-25, 22-25, and 25-23).
 
Stars of the Match:
Against Evergreen, the Skylights attack was led by Rylee Burmester, who tallied 14 kills with a percentage of .286 and added 9 digs. Shania Neubauer accounted for 16 assists on the afternoon.  Kaitlin Murdock came up with 15 digs to lead the Skylights.

Evergreen State College was led by Lily Stewart with 12 kill. Sierra Wolff led in assists with 31 in the match. Leiko Yamauchi had 16 digs.

Against Valley City State University, the Skylights were led by Rylee Burmester, who tallied 15 kills and 18 digs. Hailey Warren accounted for 20 assists on the afternoon.  Kaitlin Murdock came up with 27 digs to lead the Skylights. Marlee Bender added seven assisted blocks.

Valley City State was led by Ellie Winter with eight kill, as Katie Juarez added seven kills. Reagan Ingstad led with 17 assists in the match. Charlotte Huschka led the Vikings with 42 digs.

Stats of the Match:
In the Skylights first match against Evergreen State College, Northern had a hitting percentage of .202 on the day, while the geoducks hit .122. 
In the Skylights Second match against Valley City State University, Northern had a hitting percentage of .083 on the day, while the Vikings hit -.006. Northern had 10 blocks to their seven.

The Skylights will finish out the Big Sky Challenge tomorrow at 11 a.m. against Bethel University and Northwest University at 1 p.m.
