Lights Drop to No. 16 Rocky Mountain College

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights played No. 16 Rocky Mountain College on Saturday afternoon in Billings, Montana.  The Lights lost to the Battlin' Bears 53-34.  Northern tallied 337 yards of total offense (263 passing and 114 rushing), while Rocky accounted for 594, of which 219 yards were on the ground. 

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Brenden Medina went 20 for 44 through the air for 263 yards and rushed for four touchdowns.  Marvin Williams Jr. caught five passes for 70 yards with a pair of touchdowns, while Damari Caul-Davis also had five catches for 61 yards with one touchdown.  Cameron Taylor carried the ball six times for 56 yards. Northern's defense was led by Japerri Powell who accounted for nine total tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. Shadarius Jenkins had eight tackles and two sacks on the night. Jake Norby had one sack and one forced fumble, as Justin Pfeifer had one forced fumble and Joe Fehr had one sack. Jeff Tinae added one interception. Troy Dayak kicked seven kickoffs for 295 yards.

Rocky Mountain College quarterback Drew Korf went 24 of 42 passes for 332 yards and five touchdown. Running back Sam Sparks carried the ball 20 times for 133 yards and had one touchdown.  Josh Kraft led the receivers with seven catches for 153 yards with two touchdown.  The defense was led by Jimmy Henderson who each had eight tackles and one interception. TY Reynolds, Tim Hunter, and Wyatt Bruzven each had one interception.

The Lights drop to 1-1 on the season (0-1 Frontier).

Up Next:
The Lights will host next weekend for a matchup with University of Montana Western.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
