Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights won in overtime against Easter Oregon University 22-20 on Saturday afternoon in Havre, Montana. This is Northern's first conference win since 2016. The Lights were down going into half time 10-7. Northern came back hitting two field goals to take the lead by 3. Eastern Oregon hit a 48-yard field goal to tie the game in the fourth quarter.
During overtime, each team scored a touchdown and extra point to go into double overtime. Both teams were scoreless in the second, third, and fourth overtime.
Kaymen Cureton rushed for a PAT to take the lead (22-20) in the fifth overtime. While Eastern Oregon was finishing their attempt, Northern got a Penalty to push the ball up a couple yards. Northern was able to get the stop to win the game.
Northern tallied 212 yards of total offense (78 passing and 134 rushing), while Eastern Oregon accounted for 220, of which 185 yards were in the air.Â

Kaymen Cureton went nine for 18 through the air for 78 yards with one touchdown. Dylan Vongphach caught four passes for 21 yards.

Chase Gilbert with 11 total tackles and two sacks on the night. Joel Hadley, Justin Pfeifer, Colter Szymonia, and Joe Fehr each had a sack. There were three interceptions.
Eastern Oregon's quarterback Kai Quinn completed 10 of 24 passes for 107 yards. Running back Nathan Reed carried the ball 13 times for 33 yards. Isaiah Thomas led the receivers with four catches for 79 yards. The defense was led by Hayden Brandon, who had 13 tackles. Chase Van Wyck added a sack. Â

The Lights drop to 1-7 on the season. Eastern Oregon move to 3-4.
