Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team played against Ottawa University-Arizona on Saturday night. The MSU-Northern Skylights lost in five sets (19-25, 17-25, 26-24, 25-23, and 11-15). The Skylight started out strong, as they went on an 8-1 run to take the set early in the game. The Spirits went on a 10-2 run to take the lead. Ottawa was able to take that momentum through the end of the set to win.
In the second match, it was anyone's game. The Spirits finished the set on an 11-5 run to take the set. The Skylights were able to take the lead early in the third set, but gave it up. The Skylights battled back, as they took the lead and won the match.
 Northern took the lead early in the fourth set. The Spirits were down by six at one point when they called a time out. The Skylights had a couple errors that gave Ottawa the lead 23-22. The Skylights were able to hold on to take the set and push the game into five sets.
Ottawa came out hot in the fifth set, but the Skylights weren't going down without a fight. Northern was able to get within one point, but just couldn't take the match.

Stars of the Match:
The Skylights attack was led by
Rylee Burmester, who tallied 18 kills and added 13 digs.
Shania Neubauer tallied 22 digs for Northern.
Emily Feller led the team with 43 assists. Pretty Weasel and Graves each added 14 kills.
Ottawa University- Arizona were led Kate Pestova, who had 23 kills on the night with a hitting percentage of .213 and adding 15 digs. Valentina Trovato led the team in digs with 35. Cristal Carrizoza let the team in assists with 52.
Stats of the Match:
MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .096 on the day, while the Spirit hit .187. Northern also had 85 digs to Ottawa University-Arizona 92.
