Skylights Finish Weekend on a High Note

Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team played against Benedictine University at Mesa in Arizona on Saturday night. The MSU-Northern Skylights won in four sets (25-19, 10-25, 25-17, and 26-24). The Skylights jumped on Benedictine early until they went on a 6-1 run to tie the game. Northern used it as momentum and never looked back.
 
In the second set, the RedHawks pulled out in front early, and took the energy to the end winning the set. The third set was anyone's game, until the Skylights were able to pull ahead. The Skylights went on a 13-7 run to finish the set on top.

Benedictine jumped on the Skylights early in the fourth set. The Skylights went on an 8-3 run to cut the lead to one. Feller tallied a killed to tie the game 20-20. Ellison had an ace to take the lead by one. The Skylights went on a 6-3 run to take the match.
 
Stars of the Match:
The Skylights attack was led by Alana Graves, who tallied nine kills with 10 digs. Rylee Burmester added eight kills on the night. Shania Neubauer led the team in digs with 22. Feller added 13 assists and added 14 digs.

Benedictine Mesa were led Brianna Rivera, who tallied 16 kills and added 17 digs. Kylie Bartel had 11 kills, as well as 11 kills. Bartel also added 13 digs.

Stats of the Match:
MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .131 on the day, while the RedHawks hit .117. Northern also had 83 digs to Mesas 80. The Skylights had eight aces, while Benedictine tallied six.

Next:
The Skylights will play in Arizona again on August 25 against Park University- Gilbert at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The 4 o'clock game will not be streamed. However, they will stream the 6 p.m. game.
