Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team played against Park University-Gilbert in Arizona on Wednesday night. The MSU-Northern Skylights won in four sets (19-25, 25-23, 25-21, and 25-22). The Skylights started out strong, as they took the lead early (5-1). The Buccaneers put together a 10-4 run to take and extend the lead. They finished the set on a 4-0 run to take the set.
The second set was anyone's game. Northern was down by two, until they went on a 11-6 run to take the lead and the set. The third set was just as close as the second. However, the Skylights were able to string together a couple more points than Park. At the beginning of the fourth set, the Skylights were down 15-10. The Skylights went on an 8-1 run take the lead by one. Northern was able to hang out to the lead to finish on top for the match.

The Skylights attack was led by
Rylee Burmester, who tallied 12 kills with 12 digs.
Abigail Ellison added eight kills and 13 digs on the night.
Shania Neubauer led the team in digs with 14.
Emily Feller added 30 assists and 13 digs.
The Buccaneers were led Amanda Jonovich, who led with 15 kills and nine digs. Miranda Bacon added 14 kills hitting a percentage of .353. Melissa Blockey led the team in assists with 45. Hattie Patton led the team in digs with 23.
Stats of the Match:
MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .168 on the day, while the Buccaneers hit .183. Northern also had 60 digs to Park's 83.

The Skylights will play in Arizona again on August 27 in the Arizona Christian University Tournament. Their first game is against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at 10 a.m.
