Story of the Match:
The MSU-Northern Skylights volleyball team played against Valley City State University in Arizona on Saturday afternoon. The MSU-Northern Skylights won in four sets (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, and 26-24). In the first set, the Skylights fell behind early. Northern wen on a 6-1 run to take the lead 14-13. They gave up the lead for a split second and finished the set on a 5-2 run to come out on top.

The second set was anyone's game, until the Skylights went on a 7-0 run. However, the Vikings came back with a 5-0 run, but it wasn't even to take the set. The Skylights took the lead early in the third, as Valley City was able to put together a couple more runs to take the set. The fourth set was going back and fourth the whole set. The Skylights were able to out together 3-0 run to finish the match.
Stars of the Match:
The Skylights were led by
Rylee Burmester, who tallied 14 kills with 22 digs.
Abigail Ellison added 14 kills and seven digs.
Shania Neubauer also added 22 digs on the night.
Emily Feller led the team in assists with 44 and added 16 digs.
The Vikings were led by Katie Juarez, who had 12 kills and added 10 digs. Bailey Nelson added 11kills with a hitting percentage of .231. Sadie Hansen led the team in assists with 20. Kallene Klever led the team in digs with 30.
Stats of the Match:
MSU-Northern had a hitting percentage of .200 on the day, while the Vikings hit .125. Northern also had 74 digs to Valley City had 71. Northern added 10 aces, as well as 10 blocks.
