Lights Football Lost to The Bulldogs

Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights lost to University of Montana Western 66-0 on Saturday afternoon in Dillon, Montana. Northern tallied 62 yards of total offense (50 passing), while the Bulldogs accounted for 646, of which 343 yards were on the ground.

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Kaymen Cureton went six for 18 through the air for 50 yards. Andrew Rasmussen caught one passes for 31 yards, while Devin Shelton had three catches for 12 yards. Mason Dionne ran the ball seven times for eight yards. Northern's defense was led by Dylan Wampler and Dustin Long who accounted for nine total tackles each. Johkyreian Shealey and Colter Szymoniak each added a sack each. Brady Smelser had three breakups for the Lights.

Montana Western quarterback Jon Jund completed 11 of 19 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Reese Neville carried the ball 13 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Trey Mounts led the receivers with two catches for 62 yards. Isaiah Thomas caught four passes for 57 yards for two touchdowns. The defense was led by Hirkley Latuwho each had five tackles, a tackle for loss, and two breakups. Tanner Harrell added five tackles, 1.5 tackle for loss, and one sack.

The Lights so Far:
The Lights drop to 0-8 on the season. Montana Western moves to 5-4 in the Frontier Conference.

The Lights will be at home to play against Rocky Mountain College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
