Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Skylights lost in their first game at the Cactus Classic against Rust College 62-43 in Arizona. The first quarter started slow, as Rust was up 12-7. Rust College had a big second quarter scoring 23 points to Skylights nine. Rust just extended the lead in the third quarter scoring 18-8. The Skylights outscored Rust College 19-9 in the fourth.
 
Individual Stats:
The Skylights were led by Rachel Van Blaricom, who had eight points and four rebounds. Briaunna McCullough added eight points and six. Shyan Krass added seven points.
 
The Bearcats were led by Niya McGuire with 14 points and three assists. Amelya Hatch added 13 points. Shuntorri Rodgers added eight points and three rebounds.

The MSU-Northern Skylights shot a field goal percentage of 34, 6 percent from the arc, and 75 percent from the free throw line.
 
The Bearcats shot 42 percentage from the field, 23 percent from the 3-point line, and 81 percent from the free throw.
