The MSU-Northern Skylights wrapped up a successful road swing with a sweep over Valley City State, winning 25-22, 25-21, 35-33. The victory moves Northern to 13-9 overall and 11-5 in conference play.

The opening set was tightly contested, but the Skylights closed on a 4-0 run to take control at 20-17 and finish strong. In the second, Northern built a 13-9 lead before the Vikings rallied to tie it at 15-all. The Skylights responded with an 8-3 run to claim the set and go up 2-0.

Valley City came out strong in the third, jumping ahead 7-2, but the Skylights battled back to tie it at 21-21. The two teams traded points in a thrilling finish, with Northern finally pulling ahead to complete the sweep.

The Skylights posted an impressive .286 hitting percentage with 45 kills, 6 blocks, 5 aces, and 58 digs. Macee Selman led the way with 15 kills (.500 hitting), 18 assists, and 6 digs. Macy Uffelman and Kadence Wiggins each added eight kills, while Emily Bird contributed 21 assists and Bailey Egan anchored the defense with 17 digs.

Valley City finished with 54 kills, a .162 hitting percentage, and 6 aces. Danielle Hagler paced the Vikings with 12 kills (.296), while Gracie Schumacher tallied 26 assists and 11 digs, and JayCee Richter added 11 digs.

The Skylights return home this weekend to host Bismarck State College on Friday at 7 p.m. and Dickinson State on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Armory Gym.
