The MSU-Northern Skylights earned a sweep over Bismarck State College on Friday night in Havre, taking the match in three sets (25-20, 25-18, 25-15).
Northern set the tone early, using a balanced attack to control the tempo throughout the match. The Skylights hit .217 as a team, while holding Bismarck State to just .079. Northern also held the edge in digs (75-61) and blocks (7-3).
Macee Selman led the Skylights offensively with 14 kills and an ace. Lexa Stock and Lexi Jones each added seven kills, with Stock contributing a team-high five blocks and Jones adding four. Emily Bird helped guide the offense with 19 assists, while Bailey Egan anchored the defense with 27 digs.
For Bismarck State, Chelsa Krom recorded 13 kills and Reese Duchsherer finished with 13 digs. Delaney Deschamp dished out 28 assists for the Mystics.
The Skylights were steady in each set, pulling away late in the opener before taking control in the second and third frames behind strong serving and defense.
MSU-Northern improves to 14-9Â on the season and 12-5 in Conference play.Â
