The MSU-Northern Lights fell to North Idaho College 35-17 in dual action.
North Idaho jumped out to an early lead as Owen Pritchard pinned Tobey Forman at 125 pounds (1:10). Hoyt Hvass followed with a 7-1 decision over Daniel Evert at 133, and Parker Ballantyne added another fall at 141 (4:34). Joe Sullivan kept the momentum for NIC with a 19-4 tech fall at 149.
The Lights answered back with a strong middleweight run. At 157, Ryan Graves earned a fall at 6:11 over Colton Tucker. Justin Windauer followed with another pin at 165 (6:11), and Orion Thivierge dominated his 174-pound match with a 16-0 tech fall in 5:18.
In a close 184-pound bout, Seth Martin of NIC edged Cade Gubler 1-0. The Cardinals closed out the dual with a forfeit win at 197 and a fall from Ray Griffin at heavyweight (4:45) to seal the 35-17 victory.
