Dakota State University rode a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive performance to a convincing
75‑55 victory over Montana State University–Northern. The Trojans set the tone early, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first half and never looking back.
Dakota State came out firing, with
Lukas Morgan and
Nathan Ojukwu leading the charge. Morgan contributed 21 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists, while Ojukwu added 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Their efficient scoring helped the Trojans build a
38‑22 advantage at halftime. Dakota State shot 48.5 percent from the field and connected on 36.4 percent of their three-pointers in the opening half, forcing Northern into tough shots.
In the second half, the Trojans continued their momentum, outscoring the Lights 37‑33 to secure a comfortable win. Dakota State finished the game shooting 49.1 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from beyond the arc.
The Lights shot 37.0 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from three-point range.
Austin Ramos led the Lights with 14 points and 6 rebounds, while
Cinque Maxwell chipped in 12 points, but the team could not overcome Dakota State's strong defense and rebounding edge.
The Lights drop to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in Conference. The Lights will have Thanksgiving weekend off, as they will be well rested and ready to play Dickinson State on December 6 at 7pm and Bismarck State on Sunday at 2pm.
