(RV) Rocky Mountain Pulls Away to Beat Montana State-Northern 74–65

In a competitive Frontier Conference battle on Saturday evening, (RV)Rocky Mountain College earned a 74–65 road victory over the Northern Lights at the Armory Gym in Havre. The first half was tight as both teams traded baskets and momentum, but Rocky Mountain used a strong second half and balanced scoring to build a lead it would carry through the final minutes.

The Battlin' Bears jumped out to a 41–31 lead at halftime, sparked by efficient shooting from their starting unit. Royce Robinson paced Rocky Mountain with a game-high 23 points, showing a combination of outside shooting and interior finishing that consistently kept Northern's defense on its heels. Contributing off the bench, Kyle Jones added 16 points, providing key baskets that helped the Bears maintain their offensive rhythm through the second half.

Rocky Mountain shot a solid 53.7 percent from the field and knocked down 38.9 percent of its three-point attempts, while going 90 percent from the free-throw line down the stretch to help seal the win. The team's balanced attack featured contributions from Sherman Royal III (11 points) and Omari Nesbit (8 points), ensuring that Northern could not focus its defense solely on one player.

For the Lights, Claysen Delp provided a bright spot with 19 points, leading his team's scoring and attacking aggressively from inside and on the perimeter. Tracen Jilot added 12 points, and Luke Holecek chipped in 10, but Northern struggled to keep pace offensively when Rocky Mountain extended its lead. The Skylights finished the night shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from three, yet turnovers and missed opportunities in key moments limited their comeback chances.

The Lights fall to 11-8 overall and 6-7 in Conference. The Lights will be back in action on Tuesday at 7pm against Providence in Havre.
