In a Frontier Conference men's basketball matchup on Saturday night, the
Carroll College Fighting Saints used a powerful offensive performance to cruise past the
Montana State-Northern Lights, 92–70. Carroll jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished control, leading by double digits at the end of the first half and extending the margin throughout the second.
The Fighting Saints came out strong from the opening tip, pouring in 50 points in the first half to build a commanding advantage. Carroll's balanced attack featured efficient shooting (over 52 percent from the field and 60 percent from three) and contributions from multiple players on both ends of the court.
Senior
Isaiah Crane led the way offensively for Carroll, scoring
24 points with strong efficiency and creating opportunities for teammates.
Kellen Harrison added 17 points and 8 rebounds, while
Drew Jones chipped in 12 points off the bench to keep Carroll's scoring depth rolling. The Fighting Saints also controlled the glass and capitalized on turnovers to maintain momentum throughout the game.
Montana State-Northern battled hard but was unable to keep pace with Carroll's scoring output.
Leon Sayers IV paced the Lights with 16 points, and
Cinque Maxwell scored 15 as Northern struggled to find consistent offense beyond their top contributors. MSU-Northern shot just 31 percent from three and had difficulty slowing Carroll's transition game.
The Lights drop to 16-10 overall and 11-9 in Conference. The Lights will be at home next weekend for host parent night on Friday and senior night on Saturday.
