The Montana State University-Northern Lights wrapped up competition at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships on day two with a seventh-place team finish, totaling 72.5 points. The Lights were led by two runner-up performances, one third-place finish, and three fourth-place efforts.
At 165 pounds, Justin Windauer advanced to the championship match after winning his semifinal bout earlier in the day. In the finals, he battled Jayden Luttrell in a tightly contested match before falling by decision, 5-2, to claim second place.
Heavyweight Shane Mattson also earned a runner-up finish. Mattson fought his way to the championship round before dropping a 4-1 sudden victory decision, securing second place at 285 pounds.
Kolten Powers delivered a strong performance at 133 pounds, going 3-0 on day two to earn a third-place finish.
The Lights added three fourth-place finishes to round out their scoring. At 184 pounds, Cade Gubler went 1-2 on the final day, including a win over Tauataina Tuikolongahau to advance to the third-place match before ultimately finishing fourth. Orion Thivierge (174) and Ryan Graves (157) each posted 1-2 records on day two to secure fourth-place finishes in their respective weight classes.
