The Lights dropped a conference game Saturday night at Lewis-Clark State College. It was a game of ebbs, flows and momentum swings. The Warriors jumped out to an early lead, and held that lead up until the 5:04 mark of the first half, when Lights forward Cayeveoon Jones converted an LC turnover into three points for the Lights on an assist from
Devin Bray (20-19). LC would take a one point lead into the intermission at 27-26. A three by
Justin Dunsmore gave the Lights their first lead of the second half at 39-36 with 14:36 to go. The Lights extended that lead to as much as 10 points when
Gabe Porter converted an LC turnover into points with a layup in transition at the 8:17 mark.
Ryan Reeves again put the Lights up 10 on a two point bucket in the paint with 7:04 to go (55-45). LC erased the 10 point lead in four minutes and retook the lead (57-55) with 2:17 to go. The Lights managed to pull the game to within one point on a three pointer by Dunsmore with :05 seconds remaining, but LC was able to convert their foul shots in the final seconds and hold on to win the game 63-60. The Lights were led in scoring by forward
Justin Dunsmore on 5-7 field goal attempts, including 3-4 from three.
Caulin Bakalarski scored 13 on 4-9 shooting, going 1-3 from distance.
Ryan Reeves led the Lights in assists with four, and came through with 12 points and nine rebounds, while blocking six shots.
Devin Bray contributed to the scoring with seven points and 3 assists.
Stat of the Game: The Lights pulled down 28 rebounds to LC's 39.
The Lights Now: MSU-N is 6-8 in-conference play and now stand fifth in the standings. The postseason is drawing near, as four games remain in the regular season.
