Montana State University-Northern head volleyball coach
Jerry Wagner has announced the signing of Colstrip High School standout Baily Egan to join the Skylights program next year.
"Baily has had the unique experience of being coached by her mother, Kami Egan" said Coach Wagner. "It's safe to say she's done a great job coaching her, as Baily is highly respected by her teammates, opponents and opposing coaches. She has a competitive nature and brings so much to her team."
Â
Egan is a 5-foot-7 defensive specialist and libero from Colstrip, Montana. During Baily's 2021 season, she averaged 16 digs per match, 13 kills per match, four aces per match, and 14 assists per match. This year Colstrip High School volleyball team were conference champions, and district champions.
"Baily is a strong competitor and great teammate who has a special knack for being able to elevate the level of play in those around her" Wanger Continued. "It's one thing to push yourself to improve your game, and it's special to have a teammate who can bring that out in others."
Â
Egan is a four-time First Team All-Conference player, as well as a two-time All-State player her junior and senior year of volleyball. Baily also played basketball and softball, where she was first-team All-Conference and All-State for three years in basketball. She was also a good student where she received Academic All-State her four years of high school.
"Baily's signing helps strengthen our team's ball handling, serving and floor defense. Her ability to play several roles for our team gives us the ability to practice more systems of play and train at a higher level. MSU-Northern is a great match for Baily academically. She is currently interested in pursuing Nursing, Education or Integrated Health Sciences. I'm very happy that Baily will be joining the strong group of current Skylights. Bailey, along with our other new signees, will look to build on a successful 2021 season."
Â
Baily will be studying Nursing, while playing volleyball. Baily is the daughter of Steven Peterson and Kami Egan.
When asked why she chose Northern she replied "I chose MSUN because of the academic programs they have to offer will fit the field of studies that I want to further my education in. The faculty, staff, and coaches were all very personable and helpful. The current volleyball team was very welcoming. The campus felt like the right fit and a place I can call home for the next 4 years!"
