Story of the Game:
The MSU-Northern Lights played University of Montana Western on Saturday afternoon in Havre, Montana.  The Lights lost to the Bulldogs 35-6.  Northern tallied 121 yards of total offense (77 passing and 44 rushing), while the Bulldogs accounted for 362, of which 208 yards were on the ground. The Lights defense had two sacks, five forced fumbles, and three breakups. The Bulldogs had four sacks, three interceptions, and two breakups.

Individual Stats:
Northern quarterback Kaymen Cureton went six for 12 through the air for 39 yards. Caymus Thomas caught two passes for 21 yards, while Levi Keltner had two catches for 20 yards. Jamari Johnson ran the ball seven times for 16 yards. Northern's defense was led by Lucas Thacker who accounted for 13 total tackles (11 solo) and had two breakups. Hunter Riley added 12 tackles. Dylan Wampler had three tackle for loss (19 yards), two sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Montana Western quarterback Jon Jund completed 11 of 17 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown. Running back Reese Neville carried the ball 22 times for 149 yards and one touchdown. DJ Kirven rushed for two touchdowns. Dylan Shipley led the receivers with five catches for 98 yards with one touchdown.  The defense was led by Reese Artz who each had nine tackles, two tackle for loss, and one breakup. Tanner Harrell had seven tackles and one in a half sacks.

The Lights so Far:
The Lights drop to 0-3 on the season. Montana Western moves to 2-1 in the Frontier Conference.

Up Next:
The Lights will head to Billings to play against Rocky Mountain College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
