Montana State University-Northern head volleyball coach Jerry Wagner has announced the signing of Williston State College standout Greta Peterson to join the Skylights program next year.

"I'm excited to have Greta Peterson join the Skylights Volleyball program" Said Coach Wagner. "Greta has been well coached by Iona Stookey at Huntley Project H.S. She is a proven winner, and a smart, hard-working student/athlete."

Peterson is a 5-foot-10 middle hitter/blocker from Huntley, Montana. During Greta time at Williston State College, she had a hitting percentage of .205, 105 career kills, 18 career service aces, 63 career digs, 20 career solo blocks, and 34 career block assists.

"I have had the pleasure of watching her develop over the past few years, and I am looking forward to seeing that growth continue at the collegiate level. The fact that Greta has a strong relationship with several players currently in the program as a former teammate and a respected competitor, will only strengthen our team chemistry."

Peterson went Huntley Project High School where they were state champions in 2018,2019, and 2021. She was named Second Team All-Conference in 2020, First Team All-State in 2021, and First Team All-Conference in 2021. She was also good in the classroom with a 3.9 75 GPA. She was honored with Academic All-State from 2018 to 2021 and was in the National Honor Society from 2020 to 2022.
 
"With the addition of Greta and with a healthy of Lexa Stock, we have added experience, ability and depth to a strong core of returning players. We now look forward to bringing this group closer together and having a productive spring season as we keep building our presence in the highly competitive Frontier Conference."

She will be studying Biology, while playing volleyball. Greta is the daughter Bryan and Jodi Peterson.

When asked why she chose Northern she replied "I chose MSUN because I think it will be a great place to pursue my academic career. It also allows me to continue playing volleyball with a great team."
