The Montana State University-Northern cross country teams turned in solid performances this weekend, led by standout efforts from both veteran and emerging runners.
Men's Race
The Lights were paced by
James Stensland-Plymale, who finished first for Northern and 26th overall with a time of
26:34.9, averaging a
5:21 mile pace. Close behind was
Donovan AimsBack, crossing the line in
27:17.2 (37th overall, 5:29 pace).
Wyatt Lowery continued Northern's solid showing, clocking in at
28:57.0 for 44th place, followed by
Zack May in
29:37.5 (81th).
Decker Hanson rounded out the Lights' scoring five with a time of
34:53.7 (98th).
The Lights displayed consistency through the middle of the pack, with strong group running from Stensland-Plymale and AimsBack setting the tone early in the race.
Women's Race
On the women's side,
Emerson Kinsella led the Skylights, finishing 58th overall with a time of
26:11.5 and a
7:02 mile pace.
Deserae Toombs was right on her heels, placing 59th in
26:12.1 (7:03 pace).
Makaela Kelly and
Elizabeth DeVries finished side by side in 65th and 67st, running
27:09.3 and
27:11.6, respectively.
Kaitlyn Bancroft rounded out Northern's top five, clocking
27:32.2 (68th).
The Skylights showed impressive pack running throughout the race, with all five scorers finishing within just over a minute of each other — a sign of depth and teamwork as the season progresses.
