Montana State University-Northern Head Cross Country Coach Deborah Callahan announced the signing of Wyatt Lowery to join the Cross Country and Distance Track program in the fall.
"I'm very excited that Wyatt will be coming to MSU-Northern and joining our Cross Country and Track team" said Coach Callahan. "What we are finding out in our recruiting and visiting the smaller communities of Montana, that these athletes do it all for their team, teammates, and the school. This young man does it all."Â
Wyatt from Fromberg, Montana, where he achieved the top position in school rankings for all four years in Cross Country. His personal best time for the 5000-meter event is 18.41. In track, Wyatt is actively engaged not only in running but also in jumping events. He is currently ranked first, with his best times being 5.23 for the 1600M, 11.12 for the 3200M, 18.09 for the 110M hurdles, 45.41 in the 300M hurdles, 18-foot-6Â in long jump, and 6-foot-2Â in high jump.
During his sophomore and junior years, he earned All-Conference Honors in Cross Country and was recognized with All-Conference Honors in track throughout all four years. Lowery also demonstrated exceptional skills in various sports. He earned All-Conference honors during both his junior and senior years in football and basketball. His commitment to excellence is evident as he currently holds several school records in various events, highlighting his diverse athletic ability.
Coach Lowery, who is also Wyatt's father, stated, "Wyatt is a diligent worker, a talented athlete, and possesses the determination to excel." As a father, he expressed, "I couldn't be prouder of the man he has grown into."Â
Wyatt is the son of Levi and Jamie Lowery. He would tell you that he adheres to a quote from his Grandpa BO, "Do not be scared if they are faster, taller, or stronger. If they breathe air, it is a fair game!Â
When asked why he chose Northern he replied, "It's been my childhood dream to run cross country in college and I like how much Northern is like my school, I feel like I will fit in great."
