Montana State University-Northern Head Cross Country Coach Deborah Callahan announced the signing of Donovan Archambault to join the Cross Country and Distance Track program in the fall.

"I'm very excited that Donovan will be coming to MSU-Northern and joining our Cross Country and Track team" said Coach Callahan. "From the first day we started to recruit this young man three years ago, he has always maintained a very cheerful outlook, even through diversity of injuries."  "He carries with him a deep commitment to preserving and honoring his cultural heritage."

Donovan is from Harlem, Montana, where he excelled as a varsity athlete throughout his high school years. Prior to attending school in Harlem, he attended two years at Dodson High School. As a standout in cross country, Donovan achieved a personal best time of 16:52 in the 5000-meter event. On the track, he recorded impressive times across multiple distances, including 57.81 seconds in the 400 meters, 2:11 in the 800 meters, 4:43 in the 1600 meters, and 10:25 in the 3200 meters. His athletic contributions were crucial to his team's success, notably playing a significant role in helping Harlem secure the Class B State Cross Country Championship in 2025.

Donovan's dedication and versatility were further recognized as he lettered in all sports during his high school career and was honored with a Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Outside of running, he also demonstrated his talent on the basketball court, where he earned the "Pistol Pete Award" for his achievements and sportsmanship in the sport.

"In the short time that we got to coach him this fall he was very disciplined and dedicated to this sport. He was very encouraging to other teammates. It just was not about him. More importantly he had the heart of running" states Hope Doney, Harlem High School Cross Country Coach. "He will be a great asset towards the Northern program….GO LIGHTS!"

Donovan is the son of Ernest and Lacey Siers. He would tell you that he adheres to a quote by Billy Mills, "My life is a gift from the Creator. What I do with it is my gift to the Creator."  "Donovan runs for those who can't his relatives that ran before him and the ones that will run after him" states Lacey.

Donovan plans to major in Business Administration. When asked why he chose Northern, he replied, "It was because of the strong relationship I have had with the coaches over the years. Their support and guidance have been tremendous, and I want to continue growing that connection. I believe Northern is the right place for me to excel academically and athletically, and I am confident I can make a positive impact on the cross-country team."  Coach Callahan states "We look forward to watching him grow at Northern and his next level of running."
