Montana State University-Northern women's basketball coach has announced the signing of Alison Kunze to join the Skylight program in the fall.

Kunze, a 5-foot-11 forward from Malta, previously played two years at Williston State College and spent this past year at Montana State-Billings.

Mouat said, "We are really excited about Alison.  She had two great years at Williston State and we really tried to get her after her sophomore season.  She also played on a very good MSU-Billings team this season."

This past season, Kunze shot 58 percent from the field while starting in 4 games for the Yellowjackets.  She averaged 6.8 points per game and got to the free throw line 93 times.  She scored a season-high 24 points against Minot State University.

At Williston State, Kunze scored 930 points in two seasons, good for 15 points per game.  She also grabbed 499 rebounds for an average of 8.0 per game.  During her three collegiate seasons, she has scored over 1000 total points.

Mouat added, "Alison is a great addition to our program.  She plays much bigger than she is and is very comfortable playing around the rim.  She is a quick jumper and very aggressive rebounder.  She can defend much bigger players and really runs the floor in transition.  We are looking forward to her progress in a Skylight uniform."

Kunze was a three-time all-state selection at Malta High School.  She will join former Malta teammate Maddie Williamson at MSU-Northern.

Kunze is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Kunze and plans on majoring in Health and Physical Education.
