Montana State University-Northern head rodeo coach Doug Kallenberger has announced the signing of rodeo standout Colter Froshaug to join the Lights program next year.
Froshaug is 6-foot-5 Steer Wrestler and Team Roper from Minton, Saskatchewan. He attended school at Gladmar Regional High School in Gladmar, Sk.
In 2021, Colter was the Champion steer Wrestler in the Canadian High School Rodeo Finals Reserve. Froshaug also won the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association in Steer Wrestling in 2022 and 2023. He qualified for the National High School Rodeo Association Finals in Steer Wrestling in 2022 and 2023. Froshaug also qualified for the Canadian Cowboys Association Finals in Steer Wrestling.
While Colter is here, he will be majoring in Diesel Technology. He is the son of Ryan and Carla Froshaug. Â
When asked why he chose Northern he replied "I chose MSUN because it is close to home, it has a quality rodeo team and a rodeo coach with a great reputation, and because the new Diesel Technology building is very impressive"
