SKYLIGHTS INK WYOMING GUARD

Montana State University-Northern women's basketball coach Chris Mouat has announced the signing on Natalie Long to join the Skylight program next fall.  Long, a 5-foot-6 guard from Torrington High School in Torrington, Wyoming, led the Trailblazers in scoring, steals, and shooting percentage a year ago.  She is a four-year varsity letter winner and has made the All-Defensive team for the past two seasons.  As a sophomore, she was an All-Conference Honorable Mention honoree and as a junior she earned All-Conference honors.

Mouat said, "We are really happy to have Natalie on board.  She fit in very well on her visit and she is a talented athlete.  We are looking forward to following her senior season at Torrington and having her in the Skylight program next fall."

Last season, Long averaged 11 points, 3 steals, and 3 assists per game, helping her team to a fourth-place finish last season.  In her sophomore season, the Trailblazers claimed the state consolation championship.  She shot 46 percent from the field, 72 percent from the free throw line, and 64 percent from the three-point line.

During her career at Torrington, Long has earned a total of 11 varsity letters.  She has earned four in volleyball, two in track and field, two in soccer, and three in basketball.  She was a member of the state champion 4 x 400 relay team, also setting the Torrington High School all-time record in the process.  In volleyball, she recorded over 1500 total assists and earned All-Conference honors.

Long maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average and is in the running for class valedictorian.  She is an active member of the Student Council and National Honor Society.  She plans on majoring in nursing at MSU-Northern.  Natalie is the daughter of Deke and Ingrid Long.
