The Lights and Skylights turned in a solid weekend performance, competing in a pair of rodeos hosted by Montana State University.
In the first rodeo, the Lights secured a third-place team finish with 200 points. The team roping duo of Thomas Champagne led the way with a second-place finish in the header with a time of 8.0 seconds. Maurice Redhorn added a sixth-place finish in the header (12.7), while
Gavin McLean tied for second in the heeler at 8.0.
Alex Four Colors rounded out the effort with a sixth-place heeler finish (12.7).
On the women's side, the Skylights placed second overall with 175 points behind a strong all-around showing from
Kenda Statham, who finished third with 60 points.
Olivia Parsonage took seventh in the header (14.2), while Statham added a seventh-place finish in the heeler (14.2) and a sixth-place finish in breakaway roping (15.1).
Georgia Orahood highlighted the rodeo with a second-place finish in breakaway at 13.1.
The Lights followed up with another third-place team finish in the second rodeo, this time totaling 370 points.
Talan Cummins and Clayton Three Irons led the charge in team roping, sweeping the event with first-place finishes in the header and heeler, respectively, both clocking times of 12.6.
The Skylights again took second as a team, improving to 248.33 points.
Georgia Orahood delivered an outstanding performance, finishing second in the all-around with 135 points. Statham continued her consistent weekend with a third-place all-around finish (113.33). In team roping,
Tabitha Vermulm and
Brier Selvidge each placed eighth in the header and heeler (9.0). Statham added a second-place finish in breakaway (5.9), while Orahood took third (1.8) and later added a sixth-place finish in goat tying (14.3). Statham also contributed a seventh-place finish in goat tying (17.3).
