Bob Parsley came to Northern from a successful high school basketball career at Wolf Point High School where he set several records in both basketball and track. He attended Carol College for one year, then was recruited by coach Joe McDonald to play basketball for NMC. While at Northern, Bob's leadership, scoring ability, quickness and finesse earned him All Frontier Conference and Most Valuable Player of the Year in NAIA District 5. He was elected co-captain of the Lights and during the 1967-68 season, led the team in scoring free throws and rebounding. During his junior year, he also competed in track and place in the javelin at the Frontier Conference track meet.

He graduated from NMC in 1969, taught and coached at Kremlin and later KG High School from 1960-1973. Then he was named the Indian Education Specialist for the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) in Helena. He was promoted to Equity Division Administrator in 190 and planned to retire from OPI spring of 1996.
