Havre native Rick Shulund, a 1967 Northern graduate, is the only Northern Light's football player to earn All-MCC honors four years in a row. Playing both offense and defense, Shulund was a team co-captain for the two consecutive division fides for NMC. Known as a team leader, he returned to NMC to assist with the 1971-72 squad. Shulund has taught in Terry, Valier, and Harlem and coached football, wrestling, and track during his years in education. Having worked a number of years in construction, he now spends his time farming He has been active in youth baseball, wrestling and basketball programs as well as serving as a 4H leader.
