Robert Adams was a member of the Northern Montana College (NMC) men's basketball team during the '46-'47 and '47-'48 seasons. He was named an All-Frontier Conference player both years and later coached division winning high school teams in both Chester and Superior, Montana. He then received his bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a business minor from the University of Montana and worked for Conoco for 24 years, where he was ranked in the top 5% of the company's employees. He earned the position of District Manager, supervising marketing in eight western states. He enjoyed golf, and over the years taught many of his co-workers how to ski and snowmobile.
